Michelle Barnette Productions was established in December 2016 and is known for consistently producing high quality new writing.

​

Michelle Barnette is an award winning producer, general manager and writer interested in new writing, fresh takes on classical texts, and bold collaborations. She holds a BA in Acting from ALRA - The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, an MA in Early Modern History from King’s College London, and an MA in Shakespeare Studies at King’s College London in association with Shakespeare’s Globe. Prior to joining the King’s Head Theatre as Producer in 2019, Michelle worked for the KS Foundation and was the producer of the Alan Bates Award for the Actors Centre.

Writing: Love Me Now (Tristan Bates Theatre), The Last Nine Months (of the rest of our lives) (VAULT Festival 2019) and a commission for the students of the University of Worcester. Her writing has been featured in The Telegraph and she has taken part in the Criterion New Writing Group.

Theatre: For the King’s Head Theatre she’s produced Undetectable, H.M.S. Pinafore, Southern Belles, The Elixir of Love, Jerker, The Nativity Panto, Coming Clean (Trafalgar Studios), Opera Undone (Trafalgar Studios),The Nativity Panto (digital) and KHTV: Plays on Film (digital). Previously: SPARKS (VAULT Festival; Pleasance, Edinburgh - Winner Best Musical), Caterpillar (Theatre503; Stephen Joseph Theatre); QU4RTER (The Other Palace); Love Me Now (Tristan Bates); Brutal Cessation (Assembly, Edinburgh; Theatre503); Dust (Underbelly, Edinburgh); and The Scar Test (Soho Theatre & U.K. Tour).
